Dry Creek Photo
Dry Creek Photo offers downloadable color profiles for their minilab systems -- the same minilab systems used at local Costco stores. You can use these profiles, along with a color calibrated monitor, to get pretty nice prints.

Ken Rockwell on the Canon 20D
Best quote: "This camera reads good enough that when I try one I probably will love it; heck, maybe I'll like it enough to swap over to Canon. You never know; the metering on the D70 and ease of use is so superb it's not likely, but anything's possible."

Calypso Imaging
Calypso Imaging is said to provide the best digital photo prints available. I haven't tried them yet, but plan to.
The Megapixel Myth
"One needs about a doubling of linear resolution or film size to make an obvious improvement. This is the same as a quadrupling of megapixels. A simple doubling of megapixels, even if all else remained the same, is very subtle. The factors that matter, like color and sharpening algorithms, are far more significant."

Top Hat
I saw this street musician during a recent Portland Satuday Market visit. He was strangely disconnected from the crowd -- they didn't seem to acknowledge him, and he didn't pay any attention to them. Weird.
Anyays, here's my attempt at capturing the moment.

DCVIEWS Nikon D70 review
Nikon D70 review - DCVIEWS is a short, single page review of the D70. A bit superficial, but still interesting.
Nikon D70 Review
Photo.net's Nikon D70 Review. A bit more in-depth than the DCVIEW's review. Some interesting observations on RAW vs JPG captures.

Wein Safe-Sync Hot Shoe
The Wein Safe-Sync Hot Shoe is a little adapter that allows you to use vintage speedlights on the current crop of digital SLRs (beware, the trigger voltage on these old flash units can be a couple of orders of magnatude greater than the current units -- that being the case, you can toast your digital SLR.)

D70 vs Canon Digital Rebel
Between his Canon Digital Rebel (300D) Review and his Nikon D70 Review Thom Hogan really gives a good overview of the strengths and weakness of both cameras. Note that while Thom shoots with Nikon equipment, he is pretty fair.
