I know that webcomics are a dime a dozen, what with everything from Cat and Girl to PvP , but every once in a while I'll stumble across one that is really, really good. explodingdog is one of those really good ones.

Star Trek Elite Force - Link Busted
Yup, the link is broken. I poked around at the site a bit, looking for the screens but my Czech is rusty...

Friday, May 24, 2002Warhammer Skirmish
I haven't seen or played Warhammer Skirmish, but I already like it. Because of this forthcoming game, GW is putting all sorts of cool new stuff up on their web site. For example, they've put up a really nice terrainbuilding site.

Hordes of Chaos. Mmmmmmmm, chaos....
I laughed! I cried! I cheered out loud! The Buffy season finale? No, the new White Dwarf -- though I really liked the Buffy season finale too. Another great issue, this time filled with Chaotic goodness. Great pix, good articles, and C:SM clarifications (including a Psychic Hood clarification that makes it clear that the Hood can be used "...each time an enemy model uses a Psychic Power").

No Battle for Seattle for me. By the time it is done with, the weekend would end up costing me close to $300. I can't afford that and the WHFB Chaos army box. WHFB wins. Hope y'all who are going have fun!

I just read a new rumor at DakkaDakka that GW is going to drop the price of the core 40K and WHFB rulebooks to $30, from $45. Perfect timing!
Several months (years?) ago, I read a story on the net about a government project that was deciding how to mark nuclear waste disposal sites so that future cultures would understand that they are "bad places." The investigation potion of the process is finished and the reports are available online. This is absolutely fascinating stuff. The two reports are contained in the last two appendices -- the report background is interesting too, but the most fascinating stuff is in the back. Here it is. I suspect that any gamer would find this of interest.

I'm waffling. I might end up going to the Battle for Seattle after all. Decisions decisions.

Finally succumbed and got myself a cell phone. Freddy's had a mega-sale on the Kyocera QCP-6035 sooooper-phone with integrated Palm functionality. I went all out and signed up for the whole digital package, so I can check email and browse the web from my phone. I can even use Yahoo Messager on it :-D Now all I need is a Counter-strike client..
I've decided to pass on the Battle in Seattle, so don't plan on me driving or catching a ride.

This thing is absolutely amazing. A fellow (Sean Patten) has scratchbuilt a THUNDERHAWK Drop Ship and it is absolutely fantastic. Check it out and drool.

This past Christmas, I thought about getting Rebecca and Colin B.I.O.-BUGS, a cool new "robot" toy (think of insect-Furby's that explore, fight and can operate independantly or via hand-held IR remote control). They turned out to be $50 each, too much since you really need two of them to be fun. Anyways, I was at Freddy's this afternoon and was lucky enough to notice that they're clearing their stock of the critters for $10 each! Very much a deal. If you have any 6 - 12 year old kids in your family, get to Freddy's and pick up a couple of these things. They are *really* cool.

I think my favorite Space Marine unit is my Dreadnought. I really love the idea of it... a revered ancient warrior, entombed just prior to his death in a suit of powered armor... becoming a living weapon... so cool. And the new plastic dread kit is really nice, very convertable, with swappable arms, etc. Now, GW has a IA article on these awesome war machines here. Lotsa pix, wallpaper, pdfs, etc. Cool!
Portent is reporting a rumor that Wraithlords are going to be reduced to T7, and raised in points. Personally, I think they are OK as they are... of course, I've never faced more than one of them at a time.
